What happens when a female fronted goth act thinks they're a bunch of technical virtusos? Well you get To-Mera. Essentially this band seeks to separate themselves from every other atmospheric female sung band by wanking till they can't wank no more.

This album is pretty much loaded with songs that go nowhere or everywhere fast. In their quest to make themselves more than the typical band of this sort of style, they've really lost the songs somewhere in the mix. Imagine Amaran with their heavy riffs and melancholy female goth vocals but then throw in a bunch of unnecessary jazzy breaks, riffs that just go off on their own with no heed to the songs, and unnecessary keyboard wankery. I think this band is just too ambitious for their own good. Technicality is great but it doesn't really lend itself to this sort of music which is generally more based on a smooth flow. All this album really succeeds in is sounding like a splintered mess. None of the songs seem complete really and more like a a bunch of random ideas were squeezes together into a track and called a song. The one notable exception to this is the last track which is a good heavy to light mood shifter and the highlight of the album. That one is the only song that seems to have a solid flow throughout and for lack of a better term 'makes sense'.

In conclusion, there's some good ideas in here somewhere and there are some good riffs, good singing, and more or less the basic elements of a good band. The problem comes in the fact there seems to be no cohesive song structures to anything. If they could only translate their ideas into a more coherent song and maybe hold back a little/not try so hard they might be a pretty good band. This album just bored me though because I could never really latch onto a song as they had no overall theme. Hard to tell when one jumbled mess of music began and another one ended.
