Certainly not the most complex or heavy band out there right now, Lullacry have none the less secured themselves a fair fanbase in the metal community. Sort of an oddity with simple song structures and a commercial approach you'd think might get them shunned by metalheads. Granted, they do have Some detractors, but I've seen more positive than negative overall.

What makes this band, I think, nomatter what genre of music you may like is the simple catchiness of their music. Everyone I've talked to who enjoys the band always comes back to that one feature of the band. They're like a freaking drug. Once you get one of these songs in your head you just can't get it back out again. This album picks right up where they left off and features pretty much the same approach. The guitars are heavy sounding, but simple and it's the use of melody that grabs the listener. Not really brainfood, but the sheer energy of this album and the guitar sound take the band a long way. Tanja has a fairly unique voice too and just lot of personality. She has a very good ability to go from having a real raw rock attitude to the softer material. About on par with their last album, I'm sure this one will enjoy similar success. All I can say is keep up the good work. If there was ever a band from the scene that had mainstream potential, it's probably this one.

Highlights: Stranger In You, Fire Within, Perfect Tonight, Heart Shaped Scars

Rating - 4.0/5
