Appointment With Death is an album that for me and any fans of Lizzy Borden is extremely overdue. I've been waiting for this album ever since their reunion of sorts with the excellent Deal With The Devil and it's been a long 7 years.

The album starts off extremely strong with Abnormal and the title track which are fast, heavy, and energetic with a slick & polished style that works for them and makes the songs difficult to get out of your head. It's these sorts of songs that made me enjoy Deal With The Devil as much as I did and it's a good start for Appointment With Death. The album kind of blows it's load early in that those are the best songs on Appointment With Death, but that's not to say there aren't other good songs to be found. Tracks like Live Forever & Somethin's Crawlin have a nice crunch and groove approach that works well for the band and We Are The Only Ones is a damn heavy track with a bit more upbeat of an upbeat groove to it.

Overall, Appointment With Death has some killer highlights on it and continues in the vein of Deal With The Devil which is a good thing by me. This is an enjoyable album with hints of greatness which should please fans, but here's hoping they don't have to wait another 7 years to put an album together again. I'd recommend this to fans of traditional metal with some polish like WASP and Obsession.

Highlights: Appointment With Death, Abnormal, We Are The Only Ones
