Strength, Will, Power, Passion marks the first album where Andy Classen is not involved in the songwriting and I have to say that made me a bit nervous. Andy has always been the soul behind the songs and Sabina's unique voice it's heart. Well the once married couple led to the initial split of the band and while it was Sabina who left last time... this time it's Andy. But with the blatantly satanic cover and lyrics Holy Moses has stated in no uncertain terms that they don't need the soul. I'm almost tempted to call this black metal with all the references to the edicts of satanism and such.

In many ways this album picks up right where Disorder Of The Order left off, but while Disorder Of The Order seemed a bit more paced and groove oriented than the Holy Moses of old, this one is much more consistently ripping. Funny with the exit of their main songwriter that the band should end up sounding more like their old selves. Everything on here is just shredding teutonic thrash metal with plenty of heaviness and underlying memorable melodies. Really I wouldn't change a thing here. Kudos to the new main songwriter, guitarist Michael Hankel. I'd recommend this to anyone who just wants to bang their heads off to some killer thrash metal. I'm glad to see that this unique force in thrash can endure without their founding member Andy and forge on. While Sabina may not be the writer of the band, she certainly adds a lot of personality to their music and this just gos to show that she's the keeper of that former relationship.

Highlights: Angel Cry, End Of Time, Examination, Sacred Crystals

Rating - 3.5/5
