...And this album has been brought to you by Roadrunner records. Seriously. The label has seen some success with this sort of music lately and this is just a very blatant attempt to further capitalize. Roadrunner pretty much raped it's talent pool and got this band guest appearances by Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation), Liv Kristine (solo/Leaves Eyes), and Marko Hielata (Nightwish/Tarot) among others. Bit gimmicy but hey... I like Liv Kristine and Sharon den Adel a lot so it got my attention.

Well the problem here is that this band really brings nothing of it's own to the table. It's adequately done goth metal with symphonic touches coupled with female vocals and I'm positive you've heard more than one band like them. The vocals are good, the melodic and flowing feel works, but the songs are mostly duplicates of each other which are in turn duplicates of other bands. I just couldn't really get into this album and it gives me the impression that Roadrunner plans to run this genre even further into the ground than it already has been. This sorta thing happens whenever a more mainstream label or labels latch onto a style. Basically the sound here is some bastard child of Epica, Lullacry, and Within Temptation.

If you like this sort of style and the bands mentioned than you might like this but I doubt it'll be anything that will blow you out of the water. Adequate but uninventive pretty much.

Highlights: Sleepwalker's Dream, Frozen

Rating - 3.0/5
