Doom Metal
Nuclear Blast

2005

1. Enemy (intro)
2. Black Dwarf
3. Seven Silver Keys
4. Assassin of the Light
5. Copernicus
6. The Man Who Fell from the Sky
7. Witches
8. Born In A Tank
9. Spellbreaker
10. The Day and the Night
11. Mars and Volcanoes

Well Candlemass has reunited again (for about the 300th time) and what do you know... they actually managed to stand each other in the studio long enough to make an album. I for one am amazed. But that isn't the ONLY reason I'm amazed right now...

I was looking forward to hearing some more Candlemass, but I wasn't expecting this. Simply put... everything here is fucking perfect. The riffs are thick and punishing, Messiah's over the top vibrato vocals haven't lost their powerful, haunting feel, the production is crystal clear, and holy hell the solos rip. This is just doom metal at it's finest from one of the greatest bands to grace the genre. Candlemass's self titled is an album worthy of the band monicker and it's fit to stand side by side with their greatest classics. If you ever enjoyed this band or doom in general than you need this now. Bravo... and may you actually stay together this time!

Highlights: Black Dwarf, Assassin Of The Light, Born In A Tank, The Day And THe Night... really everything
