Gotta love debuts from bands who existed in the 80s. This is the first full length release from this long forgotten relic of the 80s NWOBHM band who really only demoed in the past. Yet for probably the simple reason of having an Andy Sneap connection this band ends up on Nuclear Blast records. That being said... anything with Andy Sneap gets my attention. I love him as a guitarist for his work with Sabbat and as a producer for his work with many bands, especially Nevermore.

Now to judge Hell on their own merit. Well, I've gotta say this is pretty awesome. Think of NWOBHM rock riff catchiness with a good heavy production and completely over the top vocals. Catchy songs, good guitar, and a frontman with personality make this a pretty damn good listen.

Vocally I am very much reminded of the over the top rasps of the singer of Coven and it works well for the band. I love when a vocalist brings personality and over the top awesomeness and that's just what this guy does. Couple that with traditional NWOBHM rock influenced riffs that draw you in and it makes for a pretty winning combo. Sacred Oath and King Diamond are other comparisons that come to mind both musically and vocally while remaining rooted in that early fusion of catchy rock and metal. Earlier Venom comes to mind a bit as well.

I can't imagine this not being pleasing to NWOBHM fans. The songs were written back in the days of the movement and you can very much hear it. Really fun rockers make up this album as it unapologetically hails Satan in the cheesiest and best 80s fashion. I totally dig this.
