Jorn Lande is a name that should definetely be known to most by now as he has become extremely well regarded as one of the best & most sought after vocalists in the metal scene, working alongside many well known metal musicians. Most recently he's been making a mark with ex-Helloween members in the all star group Masterplan. His solo band is certainly nothing to overlook either though with the inclusion of Jorn Viggo Lofstad of Pagan's Mind.
While I wasn't that big on his last solo outing, anything with Jorn Lande is something I need to give the time since I'm a huge fan of his voice and he's been a part of albums I've loved by Ark & Masterplan most notably. It's a good thing this one did find a way into my player because it is a huge improvement in songwriting over the last release. What we have here is something that very much resembles his work with Masterplan with a a bit more of a hard rock orientation. The riffs are basically hard rock with a more beefed up, heavy sound and the songwriting has a melodic, slightly commerical slant that can be found on Masterplan's latest. Any fan of Masterplan, Coverdale Deep Purple, and the slower songs in DiMeo era Riot should find something to like here I would think. Really this pretty well sounds like an extention of what is being done with Masterplan. Plenty of catchy songwriting and great singing to be found on this one.
