Well it's been only a year since their debut turned heads and here's a follow up already. A year between albums seems like pushing it to me, but hell if they can pull it off... more power to em.

With that in mind, they have pulled it off just fine. There is a certain hint of 'I've heard this before' as it's been so little time between albums and this sounds like more songs from the same album, but that's not such a bad thing. No real progression or change but the songs are the comparable quality... long, intricate, and largely worshipping at the altar of Nevermore. If you liked the debut I see no reason at all you won't enjoy this and if you haven't heard them and like Nevermore... then you'll probably dig this. The vocals are still pure Warrel Dane and the band mixes somber and heavy tunes in a similar way but with longer songs featuring more changes and some progressive elements. They're not a Hugely original band but they are very talented and know how to make a long song that isn't ever boring.

Highlights: Waves Of Visual Decay, Watching It All Disappear, My Bleeding Victim

Rating - 3.5/5
